Dream Art Guitars is NOT art just for custom-built guitars. Dream Art offers custom, pyrographic artwork hand-drawn directly onto any unfinished wood medium.

Depending on the product, Dream Art can either supply the materials that you would like the art applied to, or you - the customer - can directly supply Dream Art with your desired item instead (such as guitar bodies, picture frames, plaques, drum shells, etc.).

Dream Art is owned and operated by David Gerard, the artist. While David has most often created custom pyrographic art onto unfinished guitar bodies/necks/headstocks and drum shells, he also offers customized smaller items such as home or business wall plaques as well as picture frames, bird houses, doors, etc.

What is pyrography?

Pyrography or pyrogravure is the art of decorating wood or other porous materials using the controlled application of a heated object such as a poker. The practice has been traced back as far as the 17th century and is also known as pokerwork or wood-burning.

The term pyrogravure literally means "writing with fire", derived from the Greek vocabulary 'pur' (fire) and 'graphos' (writing).

Modern specialzed wood-burning tools feature heated pens with a variety of interchangeable "nibs" -or tips - to assist the artist in creating various textures, shades and effects on the medium in use.
